Interesting selection of Cryptozoological items

Just a quick note to refer readers to a long listing of dozens of Loch Ness Monster books and other cryptozoological items on eBay just now by seller roman10818. I don't think I have seen quite a good collection coming under auction from just one seller in my years of watching eBay. The listings include books from Gould and Oudemans in the 1930s right up to the present day and they can be found here.

Now I admit I own practically all of the Nessie items but I have been scouring the book landscape for decades. One item I did not own was an original copy of Frank Searle's unpublished "Loch Ness Investigation: What Really Happened", presumably posted out by Searle. I only have a photocopy given to me by one of Frank's supporters back in the 1980s.

  2. Do any of these author's favour a giant eel? I wouldnt mind purchasing a book that covers giant eel's as a candidate for the monster. I would like to read about stories or sightings that people say they saw a big eel. I didnt realise either how costly some of these books are, £150 for one ! Maybe some are collectors items?

    1. Gould's 1934 book is likely the most expensive Loch Ness Monster book, especially if it comes with the original dust jacket.

    2. Yes, the book by Dr Roy Mackel about the creatures of loch Ness favors a large and evolved eel as his second choice!

    3. Thanks JesusFan, an evolved eel sounds more plausible than any other aquatic animal as the identity of the monster.

    2. Tullimunster! Proof there are strange lookin things we don't know about.. Although not monstrous in size they look identical to eye witness accounts from the ness! People said only a plesiosaur matched the accounts but point I'm making there are prob lots of things that cud fit the sightings and doesn't have to be a reptile!!! I bet there are thousands of unidentified creatures in the oceans. . Nessie cud be a new spec ies or a new type of hybrid... Cheers... 3 weeks and counting till I'm there ha x
