A new Loch Ness Video .. Quickly Identified

The Daily Record put out this video today by tourist couple Gloria and Ian Davison. I watched it, I sighed, I looked up my archive of recent photographs and moved on. You can watch the video yourself and then compare this screen grab against the picture of this log I took in 2017 which is evidently still there and is at the same spot.

They are the same thing, so no point in taking this further. However, the tourist is quoted as saying "It disappeared after a minute beneath the water". Now unless this log briefly submerged under a passing wave, somebody is lying. The witness or the reporter? I have my suspicion, but will leave it at that.

Nothing to see here, move on!

  1. The perils of the hoaxers.....as if disinformation agents weren't enough to try and get us to stop looking.
That hoax team involved in the "surgeons photo" sure have a lot to answer for with their copycat modern day shysters. If only we had a few more Harry Finlays.

    2. Frankly your rantings are rather tiresome at this stage. Why you are tolerated by the blog owner is a mystery. You contribute zilch to anything but prefer to latch onto other contributors posts and try to evoke a response. Well this will be my only ever response to you "John".
Your infantile and antagonist presence makes me wonder about your age and mental capacity.
You think the "surgeons photo" is real???? Hahaha.
      Take care now.

    3. Ah well, I would be accused of censorship by the pseudo-sceptics if I stop people posting. Though I suspect they are only referring to those infallible posts by themselves.

Anyway, john is going too far in his conspiratorial posts, so he has already been moderated out on various occasions.

  2. Well Gary Campbell says it's credible. That's good enough for me! ;)

    1. I wonder how deep it is at that spot. Maybe a larger portion is stuck on the bottom keeping it there all this time?

    2. The log seems to be a permanent feature. Visibility appears to vary with the water level. Here's a link with a photo I took in April 2019 and a screenshot from a photosphere on Google Earth. The water level is lower in the Google Earth photo but it's the same log and the location matches the area seen from above in the 'monster' video.

  4. Slow news week?

Genuinely mince reporting from the Record here. When I was an art student you could buy the Guardian for 15p. It was discounted to students and back then it was a very decent paper. But I always bought the 32p Record instead purely for the football phone-in section which was always absolutely hilarious. Uniformed nutters saying the most glib or conspiratorial statements about Rangers and Celtic - I absolutely loved it.

But then one day they ran this charity thing against skag and the image they kept showing was a mocked up picture of a baby with a touniquete around its arm and I realised that they were relishing using such a salacious image. It was so bizarre. I've had people I loved die from heroin - I utterly despise it like most folk - and I understood that they thought they were fighting it... probably trying to protect children which is very noble. But it was just so blatantly exploitative that I've never bought it since. So in summary...

I think this story is probably fake.

    1. Thanks Kyle. Your story is much more interesting than this much ado about nothing fake news "Log" Ness Monster sighting. Wish it had been this simple and cut and dried with the Ricky Phillips debacle. That sucker had me fooled and strung me along. Oh... wait a moment, I guess I was the sucker. I'm sure I wasn't the only one! Never again! Nothing short of a HD, close up video of an animate creature or carcass on a slab will finally clinch it for me. Bring me the head of Nessie!

  5. If its bin there 2 years I'm surprised we haven't had more fotos or vids with people trying to trick us lol maybe proof not a big percentage of people try to pull a hoax?? Maybe more reports than we think are actually quite genuine... I'm up Loch Ness soon so any new info found I will share on here... Let's hope the sun comes out so I can watch the Loch nice and dry with a can of tennents or two. ..... Cheers

  6. I dont think Tennents needs promoting Johhn. I think its the best selling beer in Scotland. The trouble is you dont see it much outside Scotland so Roy probably gets carried away when he arrives north of the border.Im more of a bitter man myself but i do enjoy a tennents lager now and again, nice drink, maybe its your taste buds. Going back to the photograph im afraid the Dail Star is now taking over as the worst Nessie story teller going, hardly a week goes by without a rubbish photograph or dodgy story coming out of it.

  7. Yes Nicola wont be happy with you John but she will love Roy, ha.I dont mind Roy's tennents tales, he adds a bit of humour to the loch ness story, and under the humour and care free approach is a guy who is very clued up on the history of nessie.Im not sure about the stella though , now that is burp inducing lager. I think with some of these latest photographs at loch ness a few people have had one too many a stella.I hope now the summer months are here and more people arrive at the loch we might get some better photographs.

  8. Are you sure it can be explained away as a log? The eyewitness says:
"I could definitely see its back and it was a fair size. It disappeared after a minute beneath the water."

That doesn't sound like a log.
