Smirnoff Water Skier Advert
A fellow Nessie fan asked about this advert a while back and I did recall its striking image but could not find it anywhere. I have now, so here it is! It was published in 1978.

This is something I would dream about, sexy lady with a drink and Nessie, like a slice of paradise. Off the top of my head I can only think of Swatch, Toyota, and .....darn what was the vodka brand that sponsored the giant cage flown in by helicopter ?? There are more companies that have used Nessie for selling their products. I own a small ceramic Nessie made by Beneagles scotch whisky from 1969, it was found in an antique shop by myself in Vineland Ontario.
" the submarine theory does not explain the second picture "
Really ? Surely the submarine is sinking [ or rising ] or it's the first try to get a decent picture, the loch surface looks more choppy.
A many other writers over the decades have indicated, the picture has a graceful quality, and the beast looks attentive, naturalistic and alive, however, if it is a hoax, and it surely must be, it's maybe the best hoax photo in history

Does it come alive after a few drams?
DeleteThis looks like the model for the Nessie ornament I bought last year.It was purchased from one of the many Woollen Mills, and made in China I think.
