It's a good enough read, now slightly outdated, but I don't think it adds anything factual to Heuvelmans.David Evanshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13590531184544289491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-358999656752738469.post-58110950159653987662016-06-24T14:55:30.884-07:002016-06-24T14:55:30.884-07:00Quite a story, and one that's been repeated so...Quite a story, and one that's been repeated so many times by so many people, it seems foolish to ignore. The difference I can discern between LNM reports (in general) and these sea creatures, are the presence of eyes on the sew creatures and lack of on the LNM. I say in general, because of course there are exceptions. I'm not sure that these sea creatures are the same entities, but who knows? I'm looking forward to the day when we can present solid evidence of either without ridicule.Martin Curranhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09590190801760284564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-358999656752738469.post-88217167945578844892016-06-22T00:48:25.348-07:002016-06-22T00:48:25.348-07:00This comment was accidentally placed in another po...This comment was accidentally placed in another post:

Hi Roland...

So you tracked down the book. Good one...

I think what is important here is that both Mikes - Pritchard and Shepley - are very experienced sea anglers and would be very used to describing things they see quite accurately...

Further to that, I would say that Mike Pritchard's sketch does not resemble an oarfish, and his gut reaction was that it was less a fish (if at all) and more something else entirely...

As our instincts often do when confronted with something that they cannot usually reconcile, they make us realise that we don't know or can easily catergorise everything. The vast wealth of natural environment and biological situations Mike Pritchard has experienced over his many years tells me that he knew this was something that didn't fit any of that, yet made him perfectly qualified to recount it....

I think in cases like this when, and others you have discussed on your excellent forum where people are sharing something they cannot understand that is remarkable, out of the ordinary and as so inexplicable...

When you don't really know...you know you don't!

Glasgow Boyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03597014995112568086noreply@blogger.com
