Biologist N. Gladkikh observed the animal on top of shore and out of the water. The illustration made by Gladkikh certainly suggest a type of large saurian. You can see the illustration here.

This case is alleged to be included in Peter Costello's In Search of Lake Monsters, which I haven't read BTW. It is actually season 4 episode 6 and is on You Tube. It's an excellent episode but whether or not it has any relevance to the Lake Labynkyr phenomena is another matter. It is extremely rare for Sturgeon to be sighted at the waters surface and when they are it is usually only the fins that are visible above the water line. Having said that, on very rare occasions, in fact extremely rarely, more of the back of the fish can be visible. As for sturgeon in Loch Ness, I am sure over the years that some have ventured there but, for me at least, they are not the answer to the Loch Ness Mystery. I think that most sightings would be of fins breaking the surface and that clearly isn't the case.Petenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-358999656752738469.post-88032145905546103622012-09-22T06:19:42.699-07:002012-09-22T06:19:42.699-07:00River Monsters Season 4, Ep. 5 "Russian Kille...River Monsters Season 4, Ep. 5 "Russian Killer" Extreme angler Jeremy Wade heads to Russia's remote Amur River, where the mysterious deaths of three men appear to be linked with a reclusive freshwater giant.
