The point is overfishing outside impacts the salmon and trout at least.
Glasgow Boyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03597014995112568086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-358999656752738469.post-66535411350899830212017-02-19T07:29:19.143-08:002017-02-19T07:29:19.143-08:00Overfishing by whom ?

On a loch the size of Ness, that's not going to make a dent in fish stocks.

According to N. Witchell, There were pro eel catchers in the past at the loch using multiple hooked long lines. These runs have been known to be on the decline for a long time. Since water flows from the loch to the sea, we do not expect much else to impact the local ecosystem. The other factors that have been suggested in the past were pollution and acid rain.

Global warming is the new kid on the block, but when it was global freezing back in the 1970s, I don't recall reading that as a factor in anything.
Glasgow Boyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03597014995112568086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-358999656752738469.post-14933297601938514182017-02-13T07:21:11.549-08:002017-02-13T07:21:11.549-08:00Do we know if species outside of, but close to, th...Do we know if species outside of, but close to, the loch give any indication of the conditions with the loch itself? Are the arctic char and salmon populations full year residents? This always puzzled me.
